Ships Electronic Services Ltd (SES), a market leader in maritime communication and navigation electronics, has been appointed as the sole UK and offshore maritime distributor for Clear-Com, a global leader in critical voice communication systems. SES will be launching Clear-Com’s wireless and wired intercom systems to the marine industry at the Seawork exhibition in Southampton.
Dan Muchmore, Clear-Com Regional Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland, commented, “We are vastly experienced in the design and manufacturing of intercom technologies and are looking to further strengthen our commitment to the maritime market. As a leading distributor of maritime communication products and with offices at key ports around the UK, SES was an obvious choice of partner in this market sector. We look forward to working with SES, starting with the Seawork exhibition, to achieve this goal.”
While Clear-Com is already well established in other commercial markets, SES will focus exclusively on the commercial shipping sector as well as the growing oil and gas market. The humid environment typically found in maritime applications along with the steel construction of the ship, causes multi-path signal and frequency interference issues for wireless intercoms. However, the unique designs of Clear-Com’s wireless intercom systems help them to operate interference-free, which is essential for ensuring safety on board a large vessel. Those using the devices are free to roam around large vessels without the audio fading or losing communication altogether. Also, a wide range of maritime communication solutions can be found for all requirements and budgets. The main Clear-Com product lines on which SES will focus, include FreeSpeak® and Tempest® wireless systems, as well as the Clear-Com Encore™ Partyline and Eclipse® digital matrix systems.
Simon Wood, director of SES, said, “We are delighted to be working with Clear-Com to bring its wireless and wired communication systems to the maritime market. As the sole UK distributor, we aim to set up a strong dealership network and will offer installation services as well as overseeing the warranty of Clear-Com equipment. We have an excellent reputation for customer service and are dedicated to giving support to anyone that invests in Clear-Com products.”
Clear-Com wireless and wired systems for ships will be displayed at Seawork alongside other equipment from SES’s extensive range of marine electronics at the Seawork exhibition on Stand B7. Dan Muchmore will also be on the stand to answer any technical enquiries about Clear- Com products.
